About Role:

The Fit Engineer (FE) is pivotal in ensuring Thule's "Perfect Fit" leadership. This role involves developing roof rack fits using the global kit development process (KPS) and, when no existing solution is available, designing new ones. The FE collaborates with design engineering to test and approve new accessories, supports sales and marketing training, and maintains the fit database through precise vehicle measurements and data management. All necessary 3D engineering CAD for kit development will be completed by the FE, who will also work cross-functionally with global counterparts.

What you'll do:

  • Utilize the global fit process (KPS) to bring new fit kits to market as a member of the global Fit team.
  • Perform vehicle measurement and data collection to maintain comprehensive data, including current fit data, fit tips, and accessory fit information.
  • Cultivate a network of car dealerships to partner with for fit tests and approval
  • Generate all 3D CAD surfaces and Solidworks files required to complete fit process 
  • Provide technical information and support to Customer Service.
  • Support sales team during training sessions, customer and consumer events
  • Support Product development engineering team for accessory fit verification / approval of all new designs

What you'll bring:

  • Fluency and speed in 3D and 2D CAD, with Certified Solidworks Essential being highly desirable.
  • 2-3 years relevant hands-on engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or repair experience.
  • Associate's degree in a technical field is a plus.
  • Must be mechanically proficient and able to work in the field to measure and fit roof racks and accessories at car dealerships
  • Effective communication skills
  • Customer service or sales experience is a plus
  • Must be self-starter, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision
  • History and passion for both vehicles and products used in an outdoor, dynamic environment
  • Ability and willingness for Domestic and international travel – trade shows, customers, suppliers, Thule Global Business Areas (minimal)
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and auto insurance in order to spend time in the field driving
