Senior Buyer

Thule has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer position.  This role will be responsible for execution functions directly associated with the company’s needs for Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) materials and indirect items such as MRO, tooling and services. Products need to be secured at competitive cost, quality and delivery levels consistent with company policy and performance standards. Candidate will work with ERP software to perform functions and support department requirements.  Candidate will interact with; Accounts Payable, Production, Quality, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, Shipping and Receiving

The Responsibilities include:

• Execute assigned MRP responsibilities by placement, confirmation and expediting of Purchase Orders
• Coordinate the transportation and delivery of internationally supplied goods per Purchase Orders and Distribution Orders. Work with suppliers, brokers and freight forwarders to ensure efficient delivery of parts
• Support of New Product launches by cooperation and interaction with other departments and transfer of work from Procurement to Operations.
• Run reports for Forecast and Open Purchase Orders and distribute/discuss with appropriate suppliers to avoid interruptions in supply of goods
• Work with Finance department to investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Coordinate quality matters and engineering changes between company and suppliers
• Local Supplier visits as required
• Maintain Purchase Order dates with most current acknowledgements from suppliers to allow Production and Customer Service real-time visibility of product arrival
• Responsible for reporting and monitoring on KPI monthly to management
• Assist Manager with other functions and projects as required

 The Position Requirements are:

• Proven on the job experience as senior buyer
• 8+ years of experience in supply chain purchasing
• Good analytical and communication skills
• Experience using Database/ERP system, reporting tools, Excel
• Curiosity and excitement to experiment with new tools, processes, and ideas
• Constantly seeking better ways of working with positive attitude
• Prior experience as a buyer required Experience with MRP or ERP systems, M3 system experience preferred
